We are pleased to be announcing the creation of a Model European Union for Scotland which will commence this year, more details will be released in the coming weeks on how you can support and take part.
Gary Paterson, President of BETA Scotland and Lead Organiser for MEU Scotland said, “The power of cultural and educational simulations bring people together and improve our understanding of each other as well as our political institutions. We are organising MEU Scotland with those aims in mind and hope to empower young people and students to engage with and lead our political system.”
“We have a vision that, firstly, sees political institutions opened for young people in Scotland who otherwise wouldn’t ever have chance to intimately engage with politics at a national and European level, and equip them with the tools to influence change.”
“Secondly, we want to strengthen the ties of European citizenship and culture by inviting Europe’s young people to Scotland so they can see our country, culture, and politics for themselves as well bringing their own to share with Scottish young people.”
“We are looking forward to announcing more details in the weeks and months ahead, and thank everyone for their enthusiastic support so far!”
MEU Scotland’s inaugural session will take place later in 2017, find out more details about our event and our organisation here.
