We are an award-winning educational and cultural simulation of European politics. We seek to build understanding to inspire and engage young people from Scotland and beyond on the politics of Europe.

Participant applications for our Digital Council of the European event, held 26-30 October 2020, are now open! Make sure to follow our social media for updates!

To our friends and family

This has been a tough, challenging year for everyone, and our thoughts are with all of those who have lost loved ones and endured adversity through the Covid-19 Pandemic. Our heartfelt thanks also goes to all health service and key workers who have worked tirelessly and selflessly to look after us and keep our societies running – each and every one of you are heroes.

Across three editions now, MEU Scotland has brought together over 150 young people from Europe and beyond to learn about the EU and its institutions, explore, develop skills, build lasting friendships, and most importantly, have a lot of fun. We are proud of this and of the connections we’ve fostered between Scotland and Europe – now that we have left the European Union, we are more determined than ever to maintain and further strengthen these ties.

However, it is with regret that we must postpone MEU Scotland 2020 until further notice. The safety of our participants, organisers, and volunteers is our absolute priority, and we sadly cannot guarantee that whilst the pandemic is ongoing.

In the meantime though, we are very excited to bring you BETA Scotland’s first ever virtual event, in which we will simulate the Council of the European Union from the 26 – 30 October. We very much hope to see you there

Yours aye,

Fraser Wilson
Director General – MEU Scotland
President – BETA Scotland
